Anouncement: New SLUG drummer
SLUG has hired Henke Axelsson as the new drummer of SLUG, Auditions were held during June/July 2008 and the last man standing was the 20 year old drummer from Mariestad, SWEDEN. Henke is known for his skin smashing duties in swedish thrash metal act IMPLODE. Henke will continue in IMPLODE alongside with SLUG. New songs are in the pipline and SLUG has booked a recording session in October 2008. If you want to hear Henke drumming before the recording of the new songs is ready please check out IMPLODE on myspace.

SLUG Gained a very good review in SWEDENs largest music magazine for their latest CD, In SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE no 53 the following review is posted:

Självfinansierad MCD, 3 spår
Skövde har genom tiderna plockat fram en rad suveräna band: SHOTGUN MESSIAH, AXIA, MASTER MASSIVE, AMMOTRACK och COSMIC ZOO. Lägg nu till SLUG till listan.
Det vilar en krafitig Pantera-aura över bandets tre låtar, i synnerhet sången, men de gör ändå något eget av det hela. "Fleshbound" är en bulldozer med riktigt cool trumspel, "Rules Of Engagement" är minst lika energisk men med en tyngre mid-tempo-touch och feta nedstämda riff. Avslutande "The Crossbearer" brötar på även den i ett potent medeltempo med skönt gung och jag inser snabbt att demon är på tok för kort. En högst trevlig murbräcka som gör att jag vill höra mer!

Self finasied MCD, 3 tracks
A lot of good bands have been born out of the city of Skovde, SWEDEN during the years: SHOTGUN MESSIAH, AXIA, MASTER MASSIVE, AMMOTRACK och COSMIC ZOO. It is time to add SLUG to the list.
A massive Pantera aura shines above the bands three songs, in perticular the vocals, but some how they do their own approach and add a sound of their own. "Fleshbound" is a bulldozer with awesome and cool drum playing, "Rules Of Engagement" adds at least equal amount of energy but with a heavier mid-tempo-touch and with fat down tuned guitars. The concluding "The Crossbearer" also steams on in a raging mid-tempo with a rocking feel and I soon come to the conclusion that the SLUG demo is much too short.. The CD is a very pleasant wall breaker that makes me to wanna hear more!

Audtions for new drummer
After one year SLUG drummer Dillan Johansson has decided to part ways with the band, Auditions will be held during July to find out who will take Dillans honourable place as a skin smasher in SLUG. The band wishes Dillan Johansson a good future and we also wish to thank him for his well performed duties as a drummer and a friend.

SLUG will perform at rock club RAW BAR in Eskilstuna - SWEDEN on the 26th of March. Bassplayer Anders Edlund will unfortunaly not be able to do this gig with the band due to personal reasons, Stefan Franzen (HATEBOX, Clan Of Clay) will fill Anders spot on this gig. SLUG will enter the stage at Matfestivalen in Skovde on the 31st of August, the event will be held outdoors at Folkets Hus - Valhall.

Mastering of the latest SLUG CD Spokesmen Of Muted Souls have now been finnished. It was done by mastering engineer Dragan Tanaskovic at Bohus Sound Studios, Gothenburg - SWEDEN. Dragan has mastered some of the biggest selling records in Sweden and SLUG are very pleased by the result he has accomplished. The mastering process was done in co-op with producer Marko Tervonen and engineer Janne Saarenpaa.

Christer "Dillan" Johansson replaces Fredrik Skold as drummer in SLUG. Dillan earlier handled the skin smashing in boogie metallers SOUTHERN FOREST. SLUG would like to thank Fredrik Skold for the good times, good playing and lots of laughs over the years.

The new promo CD contains the 3 new songs: Fleshbound, Rules Of Engagement and The Crossbearer. The new songs were recorded and mixed at Studio-MT in Trollhättan the CD was produced and engineered by Marko Tervonen, assistant engineer Janne Saarenpaa.
SLUG enters a complete new dimension with these songs. The CD will be released at HEADBANGERS BOWL on the 4th of May 2007 - Until then listening samples will be available at SLUGs Myspace site. just click the pic below.

Play order for HEADBANGERS BOWL set
The play order for Headbangers Bowl is set: Doors open at 9:00 PM first band on stage will be Maitreya followed by Morpheena, Syconaut and SLUG will bring the event to conclusion. Besides the four bands on stage there will be a bar, Metal DJ and of course bowling all night. Copies of the new SLUG EP will be available and hopefully some new merch too. This will be SLUGs first appearance in hometown Skovde since September 2006 and the boys will plays all the four new songs from the upcoming EP.

SLUG has a new bass player
Anders Edlund replaces Johan Arvidsson as bassplayer in SLUG. Anders will handle the bass playing in SLUG besides his guitar duties in Goth-Metal band ANGEL BLAKE. Anders is a well known face among Swedish death metallers for his earlier performance in bands such as INCAPACITY and SOLAR DAWN.
First chance to see Anders Edlund with SLUG is in Skövde at the "rock ´n´bowl" fest on the 23:rd of September.

FUCKUPALYPSE - New full length CD released
SLUG has today released their first full length CD. The CD is entitled "FUCKUPALYPSE" and contains 12 songs:
1: "Fuckupalypse" 2: "My Failing Hope" 3: "Mayhem" 4: "On My Knees" 5: "Get It" 6: "Out Of Control" 7: "My Live-in Darkness" 8: "WAR!" 9: "Savage" 10: "Bleed" 11: "Savage (Big titties on the beach cry freedom REmix)" 12: "Fuckupalypse (Kids on death row REmix)"

"Fuckupalypse" and "My Failing Hope" are two completely new songs that the SLUG has recorded at Studio Boman in Hjo. The CD also contain 8 previously released songs that have been remastered to fit the heavy sound spectre of the two new songs, on top of that the band have also have done cool REmix versions of "Fuckupalypse" and "Savage" which are included on the CD.

The CD will be available in the webshop and at shows.
Downloadable 192 kbit MP3:s are available in the media section of the website.
The first chance to see the band perform the new songs live will be at at EM festen in Gothenburg on the 7th of August 2006.

New Recordings
SLUG has entered the studio once again this week to record two new songs, scene of crime will be Studio Boman in Hjo - SWEDEN, the band have had a massive rehearshal period since the end of this winter and the new songs will be heavy as s**t.

Arrival of the DOA 2005 CD
We have now recieved the first copies of the CD: "Dean Owners of America: Audible Portrait 2005" on which SLUG has contributed with their song: "My Live-in Darkness".
SLUG has together with 16 other bands/artists contributed to this CD. The CD is now available in the webshop. Fans who visit the next SLUG gig at Downland Music on the 24th of September will also be able to buy the CD there.

SLUG will release their second promotional EP on the 12th of September!
Preliminary release date for the second promo EP from SLUG will be on the 12th of september, The four songs that will be featured on the EP is right now being mixed by Peter Andersson at Downland Music, The title of the EP will not be revealed until the actual release date. The songs will according to the band have a more "versatile approach" than on the first EP.
Photo artist Hans Olofsson from Sweden is right now laying the final touch to the cover art of the EP.
So this time the it will not only be the musical content that is special - the package will be something extra as well.

SLUG is representing Sweden on a 17-band compliation CD in the USA!
The first track from the "ONE INCH PUNCH" EP: "My Live-in Darkness" is going to be included on a 17-band compliation CD entitled "Dean Owners of America: Audible Portrait 2005" The common thread pulling this group together is that members of all bands use Dean guitars and basses. The CD is being produced by Brian Ciuffreda of Studio One, NJ USA. It is scheduled to be released 5 September 2005, and will be available through our web site and at shows.
